My wife and I had our fist baby almost 10 years ago now, a beautiful baby girl we named Emily.  Back then we had never heard of re-usable cloth diapers, I’m not talking about the Terry Towelling squares that our parents put us in, obviously we’d heard about those, but nobody used those anymore.

So as a result of our ignorance our little girl went through her first couple of years in the “dreaded disposable,” shame on us! 

Our son Joe was born two and a half years later – what a great little man!  By this time we’d become more aware of this new reusable diaper fad and after reading an article on health issues regarding disposable diapers there was no way my little boy was going to be put in them!

So, we set ourselves the task of finding out all we could on reusables.  What a great decision, it took us all of 3 minutes to work out how to use them, in fact we felt so strongly about this we started “Real Nappies” and the rest is history!

Getting back to the title of this piece – Why We Chose Real Nappies, we chose them because of health reasons, if we had known 10 years ago what we know now then our daughter would have been in them too.
