Customer Testimonial – why we love Real Nappies Diapers
Hello Real Nappies Team,
I met you briefly last year at the Baby Expo and you introduced me to your Real Nappies range. I was really impressed with your sincere passion for your product and the enthusiasm you showed. I didn’t even look at the nappies properly at the Expo as I had arrived not long before it was due to shut down for the day and I wanted to see as much as I could. You had given me a brochure to have a quick look at and told me to call if I had any more questions. It wasn’t until about a month later that I started seriously thinking about getting organised with buying all the things that I needed for my baby and nursery, including diapers.
I had been asking around a fair bit as I knew a few pregnant Mom’s-to-be that I had met through classes. Everyone had a different idea and most rattled off a few names like Baby Beehinds, Bumgenius etc whom they had bought tester packs from. Of course not really having any more than opinions at this stage I was understandably confused. I had always planned to use cloth diapers but there is so much choice out there that it can be really overwhelming for a new Mom-to-be.
One day I was looking at different diaper websites, including yours, and I thought back to the conversation that I had had with you at the Expo. I decided to make the call to your office and I am so happy that I picked up the phone that day. I spoke to you about the products for about 45 minutes. Not only was she friendly, down to Earth and super helpful, but she showed the same passion about the products that you had. I really enjoyed chatting with her and in the end ordered the Birth to Potty pack, the booster pads and all the extras. I was so excited, although I was really hoping they would be as great as you and Rachael had said. I felt very brave having taken the plunge in buying the most expensive pack that you had seeing as they may not have worked out, however I felt confident that they would, due to the positive feedback from friends and sincere conversations with both Rachael and you. Finally the big day came. My beautiful little girl Amelia Rose was born on 21 November 2009. I had a straight forward, but long, labour and stayed in hospital for a week. While I was there I used the disposables that they provided and then continued with disposables for the next week at home until the scab from the umbilical cord had fallen off. Week 3 came around and my husband and I decided that it was time to get going with our ‘real’ diapers. So we washed all the newborn diapers and covers and sat down one night to pre-fold them all in the liquid poo fold and practice how they would work. It took me a few days to get into the swing of a ‘diapering routine’ with the soaking, washing and folding but right from the very begining the diapers have been absolutely fantastic. I have been meaning to write to you for a couple of months now to let you know how wonderful the nappies are, not just as diapers but for a whole heap of other uses as well. I use the diapers in the following ways:
- Diapers (obviously)
- Cloths to lay down on my mattress under my chest for when I leak at night (I hate wearing a bra to bed)
- Cloths to hold over/under the breast Amelia is not feeding from (the other one always leaks at the same time!!!)
- I lay one out flat on Amelia’s cot mattress to soak up vomit/spillage in the night
- I put one behind her head in her car seat when travelling in the car (for the same reason)
- I used them for 3 months (while Amelia was in our bed) to roll up and wedge around her to stop her rolling
- I pop them on my shoulder after a feed while I burp her and
- I lay them on the floor underneath Amelia when she has some naked, tummy time!
As you can see, I use them all the time for many different reasons. I have told everyone I know about how great the diaper are including my moms group, my cousin (she ended up getting the same pack as me, and is due to have her Son -Tyson, in 4 days), and my good friend Jess, who ended up going from disposables to buying diapers from you for the next couple of years for her daughter Ava Rose. I really share your passion for Real Nappies and even this week I am going to be taking all of my newborn diapers, covers, a nappy fresh, etc over to one of the Moms from my new moms group to show her how to use them on her 8 week old daughter, and lend her mine so that she can get a feel for them before she invests her money. She is a bit dubious and at the moment is a die-hard disposable fan so I am going to show her how easy and fantastic they really are!!! Anyway, please excuse my rather lengthy, rambling email! As I mentioned above, it has been on my mind for a while now to write to you and encourage you that your nappies are being loved. I always think that people should speak up when they are enjoying something rather than just when they might have something to complain about.
